*Although we’re still waiting for the student surveys from this
particular school, it was an exciting time… Students were eager to
participate in all the bullying games on stage. They cheered when the
dogs performed their tricks to the theme of how to get safe. And they
clapped to the beat of Jeremiah’s newest song, “Shattered Life” which he
sang a’ cappella. They even gave him a standing ovation at the end.

- "Take A Bite Out Of Abuse is beneficial for both students and the community. Lisa Freeman's presentation offers people a unique, interactive way to learn important skills that will impact their lives forever. Owosso Public School District's Comprehensive Health Council supports her work."
-Susan Wooden, Director of Curriculum, Owosso Public Schools
- "Lisa Freeman has a true heart to help others, especially children and teens. The program she is offering to stop bullying and abuse is desperately needed in the public schools. This program will reach kids on a whole new level. She not only offers awareness to promote health, but she also will bring positive self-esteem to our communities and children.
-Paula Foster, Board Member of the Child Abuse Prevention Council
- "Lisa Freeman & Snickers presented their fun, interactive Take A Bite Out Of Abuse program to our elementary students. She also presented a program to our secondary students (6th grade thru 12) on Dating Abuse, drug abuse, self-bullying, and other dangerous forms of abuse teens can get into. to our junior & high school students. Both programs were well received by our students and staff. Lisa does a great job, she has a heart for kids and it shows! She is very good with students who have been hurt or abused. Snickers is a wonderful dog and the students loved having him here. He is great with kids of all ages."
-Bonnie Cornelius, Lakeside Christian School, Lansing, MI
- "Take A Bite Out Of Abuse is an amazing program. We need to have programs like this in schools all across the nation. I was born with Cerebral Palsy, a condition that led to a life difficulties and obstacles. I was bulled and teased for my disability. But that didn't stop me from dreaming. I always dreamed of one day becoming a beauty queen. One of my teachers then gave me the biggest blow of my life when she said I'd never be able to enter a pageant because of the way I walked. Her words broke my heart and made me feel worthless. In 2004, I wiped my tears and held my head high as I entered my first beauty pageant. My dream came true in 2005, when I was crowned Miss World Festival. I believe with a program like Lisa & Snickers offer, other kids will be able to make their dreams come true too !"
-Abbey Curran, Founder of the Miss You Can Do It Pageant
- "All my kids and grandkids have read Lisa's book Run For Your Life. This book alone will help teens, troubled teens, and those who suffered lives of abuse. But she has a special gift to reach kids of all ages. And with Snickers by her side, A Licensed Pet Therapy Dog, she offers kids more than any other program offered at school. A dog walking the school halls is better than the alternative--a bully loaded with guns and ammunition!"
-Winnie Perry, Mother & Grandmother & Representative of the Drive Safe Team
- "I believe in the health and education of our children. That's why I believe in Lisa & Snickers and what they are doing. Through Take A Bite Out Of Abuse they reach a variety of children; even those who are troubled or disabled. They offer kids, teens, teachers, and even parents a wealth of information, safety tips, hope, and ultimately healing. I first met Lisa through her uplifting articles and inspirational true stories about kids and teens. In addition to being one of our best writer's she has a heart for young people, and it shows in every word she writes. Lisa gives 100 percent to everything she puts her mind to, and I know this program will be no exception."
- Michael Ross, editor of Breakaway Magazine, FOCUS ON THE FAMILY
- "After I heard about Lisa's new program Take A Bite Out Of Abuse I asked her to speak at our church. Lives were changed and restored as a result. With all the abuse, dating violence, and bullying in our schools, her program is definitely needed. Not only will she bring awareness and safety tips, she'll promote positive self-esteem, and help bridge the gap of prejudice and racism."
- Diana Menzing, Senior Pastor's Wife, Faith Christian Family Church, Lapeer, MI
- "As a mother and a survivor of abuse, I cannot begin to express how important and useful these workshops are. As times have changed and continue to change, our children need to be educated on the topic of abuse. I am thankful there is a program like Take A Bite Out Of Abuse. but I'm even more grateful for the work Snickers & Lisa continue to do in our community."
-Terri Hetfield, Business Owner
- "After Lisa & Snickers spoke to our group, I was astounded. I knew abuse existed, but I didn't understand to what extent kids suffer in the public schools. I was teased due to being deaf when I was younger, but today kids are being bullied to death. With a program like Take A Bite Out Of Abuse, many young lives can be not only spared, but changed."
- Mike Enlow, Director of Community Christian Singles
- "I commend Lisa & Snickers for what they are doing. As a mother of 5, 2 of whom were physically, emotionally, and verbally abused in school. 1 to the point he felt suicidal. I wish there had been a Lisa Freeman and Take A Bite Out Of Abuse program when he was suffering. I believe her workshops will not only prevent bullying and abuse of children and animals, but also potential suicides and future Columbine scenarios. I speak not only as a mother, but a past employee of an elementary school and a professional certified hypnotherapist. Sadly, I've seen the bullying in children and the effects of bullying in many of my adult patients."
- Yvonne M. Woodstock, C.Ht., Certified Hypnotherapist
- "Lisa puts together educational workshops and adds some fun with use of her dog, Snickers. Snickers is a wonderful dog. I had the pleasure of working with him when I helped train him for the program. He's gentle, catches on fast, and has a healing personality that will be great for people of all ages."
- Jennifer Evanston, Dog Trainer
- "My name is Zach Bonner. I'm 9, and I have my own non-profit organization. Through it, I help homeless, abused, and hurting kids. I send backpacks, food, and even toys all over the world. And Lisa & Snickers have a heart for abused kids too. I think it's cool that they care enough to go into each school and put on fun, trick presentations to stop bullying, violence, and abuse. They were both abused and totally understand kids and know how to help them. Besides, what kid wouldn't want to miss an hour of school to check out a really cool dog who does tricks?"
- Zach Bonner, founder of The Little Red Wagon Foundation, Inc
